The Trust was established on the 7th of September in the year 1940 with the specific needs of war widows and retired nurses who had served during the World War in mind. The Land for the activities of the trust was donated by Shri Chimanlal Maniklal Trivedi. With the passage of time, needs changed and therefore the objectives of the Trust were redefined to address issues which are the need of the hour.
The redefined objectives include educational aid, health care and a host of other socially relevant issues. India, one of the world’s two population superpowers, is undergoing unprecedented demographic changes. Increasing longevity and falling fertility have resulted in a dramatic increase in the population of adults aged 60+. The age old joint family system is being replaced by the nuclear family concept.
